I captured this photograph at the end of a long day. As we wound our way down the mountain back toward town, I could sense the sunset was about to put on a show. I took the next pull-off and it was perfect, framed by towering pines that opened into a sweeping view of the valley below. The last warm light filtered through the branches, casting soft rays across the distant ridge lines turning the evening haze into a gentle, golden glow. I set up my camera, refined my composition, and waited for the light to settle into the perfect place. The spring air was cool, the final notes of birdsong echoed around me, and for a few suspended minutes, it felt as though time held its breath while the sun slipped toward the horizon.
