There’s a quiet kind of magic that settles over the Great Smoky Mountains as the day comes to a close. The light softens, the ridgelines begin to fade into one another, and everything seems to slow.
This was a moment we waited for. The location was planned, but as with so many evenings in the mountains, there was no guarantee the sunset would come together. We watched as the light shifted, unsure whether the sky would open or quietly fade into dusk. Then it did. Layers of mountain ridges recede into the distance beneath the warm glow of the final light, creating the calm, timeless feeling that makes the Smokies so unforgettable.
